Usually someone who is able to understand and speak at least one language is called “polyglot” and someone who has more than three languages is called “hyper-polyglot”.
Guinness Book of Records names a Lebanese man named Ziad Fazah as a man who speaks six languages, but during a live television interview, it was revealed that he had the ability to understand and answer basic questions. It does not have some of the languages it claimed to be fluent in.
The nominee will be a German diplomat named Emil Krebs, who died in year 6. He was reported to be fluent in four languages and was learning four other languages that his death did not give him.
