The Young Professionals Programme (YPP) is a recruitment initiative to start a career as an international civil servant with the United Nations Secretariat for skilled, highly trained professionals. Once qualified candidates start their career at the UN, it consists of an entrance test and professional development programs.

Who is Eligible for United Nations Internships? 

• Must be a national of a participating country;
• Must hold at least an undergraduate  degree ( Bachelor degree ) relevant for the exam subject;
• The applicant age should be under 32 years old
• Must be fluent in one of two language
  • English or*
  • French

Note: For each exam subject, all applications will be screened for eligibility. If more than 40 applicants from the same country are qualified for the same field of review, they will be further screened and rated on the basis of the highest level of completed schooling, knowledge of the official languages of the United Nations, and related work experience. How is the UN internship Exam? 

• The UN internship exam is consists of a written and an oral and The written test is undertaken electronically ( Online ) and can be carried out in either one or two-stage.
• For all YPP exams scheduled on the same day, Examination Paper is the same. It must be done in two Languages either English or French and assesses the basic skills necessary to operate in a complex international organization such as the United Nations.
• The Specialized Paper measures substantive knowledge of the subject area, frequently requiring questions of multiple-choice and open-ended questions. Based on the exam field, the number of questions can vary.
• If you pass the exam you are invited to a video conference
